God's in his Heaven
All's right with the world

Pippa, an impoverished silk-winding girl, rises on New Year’s Day, her only holiday for the whole year. She sings as she wanders aimlessly, passing through Asolo. People who were at critical points in their lives hear Pippa sing as she passes by. Her songs influence them to make significant and far-reaching decisions.

Pippa Passes is one of Robert Browning’s most original verse dramas, in which Browning emphasises the incidents in the development of the human soul.

Robert Browning was one of the foremost poets of the Victorian era. He was also the husband of the famous poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
